The reality for many women is the courts render them sitting ducks for angry, crazy men.
In the latest of what appears to be an endless examples of bad reporting, media coverage surrounding Jerry Wayne Steel, (and his long record of violent crimes) violating a restraining order and shooting the 14 year old girl he's accused of molesting and her mother in the head before killing himself, is minus the fact California legislators and Judges are aware of active GPS devices which serve to enable women ahead of time, when notified by a GPS monitor, to vacate the area the restrained person has been ordered to stay away from to save their lives, once that person comes close to violating the stay-away distance.
Bonus points? This GPS Victim notification device also comes equipped with a siren the staffer could trigger as a sort of a mobile neighborhood watch. Steele or others would have been able to hide from the sound.
Extra bonus points? These GPS straps can't be cut.
And yet, the reporting is absent this critical information. Reporting by remaining the same, underscores how disposable women are, have been, and remain in spite of technology being available to save their life.
Different names, difference places, but essentially reporters turn in the same story. How is it reporters are able to get the facts and continually miss the story?
Bad reporting equals lots of women who wind up being sitting ducks. Dead ducks.
Thanks legislators. Thanks judges. Thanks reporters.
Thanks for nothing.
